On this page we are going to be having a look at the Sony Z9G MASTER Series LED 8K TV which is another selection if you’re looking for a great 8K TV.
We will run you through some of the features that you get with this TV and also recommendations on which one you should buy overall. If you’re looking to get into the 8K TV scene early there are plenty of 8K TV choices as they are starting to launch month by month and there are several that are currently taking preorders.
We will also talk a little bit about whether you should make the jump to 8K or whether you should wait until there is more 8K content available.
Sony Z9G MASTER Series LED 8K TV Overview:
This is not a review of the Sony Z9G MASTER 8K TV as it is very new so we thought we would run through some of the features to give you a preview of what you get for your money.
Powerful Processor:
as with most of these 8K TVs you will get the latest processes inside them. The Sony Z9G features the powerful XI ultimate processor. This will help you to get a picture that is four times the quality of a 4K TV and it also has special brightness which has been specifically developed for 8K.
This results in a picture that is rich in depth, texture and detail.
Upscaling:
one of the reasons that you might not upgrade to 8K just yet is because there is not a lot of content that is available in true 8K. However, with the Sony Z9G you will get an upscaling feature which will take any 2K image and upscaling to 4K.
It will also take any 4K signal an upgrade to 8K.
It is worth bearing in mind that the upscaling will not give you the high-quality standards of 8K, but it will be pretty close to it.
The Sony 8K TV does this by using something called 8K X-Reality Pro and has an exclusive 8K database so it can add in and enhance scenes to give you the most accurate texture and character that you would normally only see on a true 8K image.
You also get special kind of 8K brightness, this is explained because technically an 8K image will have a low transmission rate, this means that generating the brightness you need can be difficult.
This TV will precisely balance the light output across the screen and is able to dim the LED’s independently while also boosting others depending on where the light is needed.
You will find that this TV will give you a brightness range several times higher than a conventional LED backlit TV.
This technology is called X-tended Dynamic Range PRO.
OLED Technology:
this screen also has millions of self-illuminating OLED pixels that can be individually activated to reproduce lifelike pictures. Because it is able to fire up independently you also see more accurate details and colours in every shade.
The other benefit of this is that it will prevent image burn in. Maybe you have left a conventional LED TV on for a while and found that the image burns in, using an OLED TV will eliminate this.
The way it works is the chip inside the TV works out whether it is a still image being shown and will shift the pixels around to avoid burn in. So, this will work well to make sure that your TV last longer.
Watch Anywhere In The Room:
Another feature that you get with this TV set is that you will be able to watch it from anywhere in the room without any loss of quality. This is because of an original design to control the light from the backlight, this TV also gives you something called the X-Wide Angle panel that will ensure colours stay true and clear no matter where you are in the room.
Another thing that the Sony Z9G will excel at is watching fast action scenes or sports as it has something called X-Motion Clarity and this keeps everything smooth, bright and clear no matter how fast the action is going!
This definitely looks like a fantastic TV set especially if you are looking to upgrade to 8K.
Our recommendation is to check out the Samsung Q900 first and then come back to the Sony Z9G if you have not found what you are looking for.
One thing is for sure, you can get some fantastic deals right now if you are looking to upgrade to an 8K TV and with the upscaling feature you won’t mind waiting until there is more 8K content!
